Hi everyone!

I have quite long and thick hair and I absolutely love it, most of the time. Sometimes however... I hate it because it's so straw-like. After dyeing my hair with hairchalk and spending three weeks in a swimming pool in Southern France with a lot of Chlorine, my hair looked like that of a witch. Literally; I would sometimes have half an AVRO hairstyle because it was so frizzy. So I kept putting conditioner in my hair, before I went to the pool or do anything, to tame it a bit. Luckily, someone long ago came up with the idea of creating hair masks and luckily we came up with the idea of buying such a product... Although I never believed they did any wonders, I have been proven wrong. So, are you curious how hair masks have changed my life and which other products I use to keep my hair healthy and shiny? Keep on reading ;)

Right now, I'll wash my hair every two days, and I'll use a hair mask every second time I wash my hair. I have tried different types of shampoo, such as bamboo and coconut shampoo but up till now, I like this one best. The scent isn't very strong but I like it. My hair will smell fresh for two days and in top of that, it makes your hair look a bit more shiny. Because I started using this shampoo at the same time I started using the hair mask, I don't know if the shiny-ness of my hair is indeed affected by this shampoo but the shampoo is nice anyway. The structure is a bit thick, yet it is easy to "spread" and wash out. The nice thing about this shampoo is that it is a shampoo and a conditioner in one. Before I started using this shampoo I could never figure out how much conditioner I actually had to put in my hair, but thanks to this product I don't have to worry about that anymore. On top of that, you don't have to leave this shampoo in for a long time; you can wash it out immediately or if you prefer a better result, leave it in for 1 minute. According to the bottle, the conditioner should make it easier for you to brush your hair afterwards and I have found this to be definitely true; my hair is extremely smooth and I can easily brush it, even immediately after I come out of the shower. I have put the list of ingredients below.

The hair mask that I am currently using every 4 days is Elseve Anti-Casse, from l'Oreal. One pot contains 300ml (10fl oz) and costs €6,70. Apart from the tester from Garnier that used, I haven't used any other hair mask ever before, so I don't know if this is the best, but it is certainly a good one. Also, you only need a little so it will last long. I can't exactly describe the scent of the product but it certainly smells fresh. Although before you put it in your hair it might smell a bit plastic-like, it certainly doesn't smell like that once you have washed it out.
Another good thing about this mask is that you'll only have to leave it in for 1-2 minutes.
You can probably find this product at most supermarkets and drugstores that sell l'Oreal (hair-)products. The ingredients are listed below.
